Blatter referred to Valcke as an ‘entrepreneur’ during his press conference announcing the award of the 2009 and 2010 Club World Cup to the United Arab Emirates this week.

Yet Valcke is keen to dispel any notion that FIFA is becoming more money driven and that he was appointed primarily to boost the organisation”s considerable coffers.

‘I would not take the word “entrepreneur” too literally,’ Valcke said.

‘What Mr Blatter meant was that I will be working with him to make sure that we think long-term in a fast-moving world and make sure that FIFA goes exactly where it wants to go down the track.

‘I”m not here to make as much money as possible for FIFA. Money is not everything.’
