Usher Makes a “Stand” for Marriage, Family.
Like Jay-Z and other hip-hop idols, Usher is also cultivating a high-profile side career as entrepreneur.

In addition to having his own label, US Records, he is part owner of an NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and an Atlanta restaurant called The Grape. Last September, with Liz Claiborne, he unveiled a line of Usher fragrances for men and women.

‘Producing and ownership are where I”m headed,’ says Usher, who clearly wants to continue adding to his business resume.

Having done a stint on Broadway in a revival of Chicago in 2006, he would eventually like to return to theater, not only in an onstage role but also as an investor in ‘another project, one where I could have some control.’

And in this election year, Usher has also been waxing political in his extracurricular endeavors.
